5 Reasons you are struggling to find balance in your life…
Balance is something we all strive for. Balance between work, play, health, family, friends and all the other things that grab our attention constantly. It can be hard to know what you should be focussing on at any given point.
It is incredibly important to remember that balance looks different for each one of us. You can DECIDE what balance should look like in your life.

If you’ve been struggling to find balance in your life, but but can’t figure out why, you might be having trouble with one of these 5 things:
1. You don’t know what balance looks like for YOU
If you’ve just been hoping that you will find balance one day without taking a moment to look at your life and deciding what you want to prioritise, it will be difficult to find that balance. Take a moment to think it through. Journal your thoughts and vizualize what you want your life to look like. By taking the time to figure out what is really important to you, you will have a much better idea not only of what balance looks like for you, but also how to achieve it.
2. You are not taking care of YOU
Balance will always feel just out of reach if you’re not making sure that you are ok. Practising real self care is about making space in your day to take a moment to take a breath and make sure you’re ok.
Do you need a run? Or maybe a 10 minute walk? Do you need 5 mins to gather your thoughts or a night out with a friend once a week?
It’s so easy to make excuses (I don’t have enough hours in the day!) or to feel guilty about taking time for ourselves, but it really is so important! You won’t be able to find balance if you’re running on empty.

3. You are struggling to be consistent
I love this quote by Jasmine Star, photographer and Social Media phenomenon. She says: “Consistency is where the gangstas play.” And she basically means that consistentcy is where all the magic happens.
Lack of consistency in our actions is one of the biggest reasons life can feel chaotic and all over the place. It doesn’t help to go on a crash diet for a week or 2 and the go back to normal! But getting into the habit of walking a couple of days a week CONSISTENTLY, will make a huge difference to your health in the long run.
Which areas of your life are you lacking consistency? Try to create consistency around the way you take care of yourself, especially with food, exercise, sleep, and relaxation. These areas have the biggest impact on your overall life balance.
4. You don’t have a plan
Planning is the way to ensure that you can take care of business AND take care of yourself. Though balance may seem like a go-with-the-flow kind of thing, sometimes planning is the only way to make it happen.
If you plan AND SCHEDULE specifc times in your day for time with the Lord, time to refresh, time for family, time for work etc, it’s more difficult to say no to them, and it becomes easier and easier to stay on top of everything else.

5. You are trying to do it all yourself
There is a reason why God created US, not just you OR me. He created us in community for a reason. And He also wants to be in community with us.
He knows how difficult this life can be. And He knows finding balance is a tricky juggling act. That is why He sends help. In the form of His Word, His Spirit and the people around us.Life is not supposed to be a lonely race. We can run it together! Friends help remind us what is truly important and they support us in the seasons that are chaotic and they also help us by taking things off our plate.
The question is, do you allow your community to jump in and help?Balance can be something that is always out of reach OR something that you edge closer to every single day. It’s your choice.
