What does it mean to live a balanced life?

Between raising kids, having healthy personal relationships, staying on track in a career, keeping a clean house, cooking healthy meals, exercising and finding time to relax, we have come to believe that balance is simply being able to do everything and keeping everything from falling apart.

Do you have it all together, all of the time? Neither do I!

At the end of the day we’re all trying to find the perfect balance, but society is settings unrealistic expectations for us! If we keep running the way we are, we will just end up tired and unfulfilled.

I believe that creating a balanced life means making time for the things you have to do, as well as the things you want to do.

When I look around me, I see that no two people’s balance looks the same.

  • For the mom with a new baby, balance might be getting enough sleep, keeping her sanity and enjoying the precious moments with her newborn.
  • For the young, driven career woman, it might be making sure that her personal relationships stay strong and healthy while she is building her career.
  • For the homeschooling mom, balance might be found when she takes enough ME-time to feel refreshed and revitalized.

These are all oversimplified examples, but they all make the same point. Balance doesn’t look the same for you and me. Balance is subjective and you can decide what balance looks like for YOU!

Balanced living means considering all aspects of your life: relationships, work, health, emotional well-being and fun, and then making room for the things you need and want right now. 

Creating balance in your life is not about perfection, it’s about building everyday habits that prioritise the things that are important to you.
